Watch GRiZ Close His Bonnaroo 2023 Set With Unreleased Rainbow Kitten Surprise Remix

In an emotional tribute, GRiZ ended his second performance at Bonnaroo 2023 with a never-before-heard remix of “Freefall” by Rainbow Kitten Surprise, whom he replaced on the lineup after the band cancelled their remaining tour dates due to a “medical crisis.”
After GRiZ was already confirmed on the Roo lineup with a Friday night time-slot, he was tapped to perform a special, second set—a rare “Chasing The Golden Era” performance—on Saturday at dusk. The set tapped into sounds and selections from his fan-favorite mixtape series of the same name.
With the sun starting to blissfully set over the Farm and the crowd radiating a palpable energy, GRiZ closed out his uplifting “Chasing The Golden Era” set with a touching track, a brand new remix of Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s “Freefall.”
GRiZ recently announced an indefinite hiatus from touring, with plans to spend more time with friends and family. His last performance prior to his break will come in October 2023.
“Life is really good, and often I make myself too busy to see just where I am and how far the project has come,” he said. “I’m following my gut instincts so for now, I’m not going to put a hard time limit length on the break.”
