When two trap goliaths like Alison Wonderland and QUIX collide, we can only expect the best. This time around, the duo have stepped far outside of the box to release “Wake Up,” out now via Astralwerks.
We previously had a taste of what these two sound like together when they released 2019’s “TIME.” But “Wake Up” is an entirely new beast from the pair of bass music innovators, who are also longtime friends.

Alison Wonderland and QUIX have left little to be desired in the impressive new collaboration. The opening orchestral sequence of “Wake Up” is masterfully written as it gently guides us into the arrangement’s first mind-melting drop. It doesn’t stop there, however, ultimately leading to a second drop of hypnotic, four-on-the-floor mayhem.
Fresh off a sold-out Red Rocks performance, Alison Wonderland’s seemingly unstoppable train of success has continued throughout 2023. She kicked off the year with a remix package of her third album Loner before dropping September’s collaboration with MEMBA, “Fight or Flight,” which released on her very own FMU Records imprint.
QUIX has also stayed hot, joining forces with The Chainsmokers for “Grenade” and dropping his stunning Arpeggio EP on Seedeater. He also launched a drum & bass alias, Fredrick, who released an official remix of Alison Wonderland’s “New Day” before debuting with “The River.”
