Watch R.E.M. reunite onstage at a ‘Murmur’ tribute gig

R.E.M. shocked followers final evening by reuniting throughout a tribute gig celebrating their traditional debut album ‘Murmur’ – see footage and pictures under.
All 4 members of the band – Michael Stipe, Invoice Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills – made an surprising return on the 40 Watt Membership venue of their residence metropolis of Athens, Georgia yesterday (February 8).
The 460-capacity house was internet hosting the newest present of actor Michael Shannon and musician Jason Narducy’s current tour, which sees the pair play 1983’s ‘Murmur’ in full together with a handful of their favorite R.E.M. songs.
Video and images have since emerged of Stipe and co. onstage collectively on the occasion. In a single fan-shot clip, the frontman tells the excited viewers: “Talking on behalf of Invoice and Mike and Peter, we’re so fucking thrilled to be right here tonight.”
Extra footage of the second has not but been shared. Nevertheless, it’s reported that the group didn’t carry out stay collectively.

R.E.M. carried out on the legendary 40 Watt Membership quite a few occasions of their profession, and it’s owned by Peter Buck’s ex-wife Barrie. Again in 2013, Rolling Stone named the venue among the best golf equipment in America.
The publication wrote about how Stipe would “stage-dive into the gang” throughout performances, and recalled how the singer used to “rely pennies to get in” in his pre-fame years.
